📢 Our Mission

Pitbulls Are Family, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in New York City. We’re committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pit bulls while advocating for responsible pet ownership and community wellness. Our work focuses on underserved neighborhoods where loving pet guardians often struggle to afford basic veterinary services.

🚨 The Issue

Every year, countless dogs—especially in marginalized communities—go without essential veterinary care due to financial hardship. Routine services like core vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, and wellness visits are often out of reach for families living paycheck to paycheck. This lack of access can result in:

Preventable illnesses and suffering
Overpopulation due to unaltered pets
Shelter surrenders and pet abandonment
In extreme cases, cruelty charges or forced confiscation

🤝 Our Call to Action

We are calling on veterinary hospitals, mobile clinics, rescue organizations, and animal welfare professionals to join us in launching a community-led solution. While our organization is still developing our outreach programs and currently lacks the funding to support this initiative financially, we know that change begins with collective action.

We ask for your kindness, support, and collaboration to help us, help them.

By signing this petition, your organization may pledge to offer:

Low-cost or free vaccines (rabies, DHPP, bordetella)
Discounted spay/neuter procedures
Sliding scale wellness exams
Reduced emergency care fees
Microchipping and flea/tick control
Volunteer vet support or monthly service time
Partnership in community or mobile vet days
Referral assistance for pit bull-friendly pet families in crisis
